David is an eleven-year-old Canadian (加拿大的) boy. His weekend usually goes like this:

    On Saturday morning, he usually helps his parents with the housework. He washes his father's car, washes their dog or helps his father in the garden. In the afternoon, he plays baseball (棒球) with his friends. In the evening, he practices his band drum (架子鼓) at home or watches TV.

    On Sunday, David and his family usually go hiking (徒步旅行). They always take their dog with them. Sometimes they go to shows (展览) in the city or go to parties. On Sunday evening, David goes to bed early. He reads in bed for half an hour and then goes to sleep.

    Mr. and Mrs. Clinton live in a house with a lovely garden. There is a big oak tree(橡树) and some flowers in the garden. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton love the flowers, but their favourite is the big oak tree.

    There is a table and some chairs under the oak tree. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton often read newspapers under the tree. Sometimes they eat under the tree. When their children come back home to see them, they often sit under the oak tree and talk.

    The oak tree is also the home of some birds. There are three nests in the tree. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton often watch the birds in the tree, and they love to hear the birds sing.

    Bees can forecast (预测) the weather. If you see a lot of bees fly out of their hive (蜂巢) in the morning, you can be sure it will be a nice sunny day. If the bees fly back to their hive very late in the afternoon, the next day will still be sunny. What if the bees stay in their hive in the morning? That means it is going to be a cloudy or rainy day. If the working bees fly back to their hive in a hurry (匆忙), the weather will change. If bees fly out to work even in the rain, it will be sunny soon.
