    My dad was my everything.1bad could come to me when my daddy was around. But my dad also had a problem. He was an alcoholic(酒鬼). One day while watching cartoons, I heard the back door  2^. In came my dad. He was drunk(醉). I ran to him and shouted, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." When I was about to reach him, my mom 3 me. Why was she holding me back from my dad?

    "Let me go to my daddy. He needs me！" I shouted. "No, Cindy, he'll hurt you. You need to stay back，" my mom said to me. Then my dad came out carrying as much as he 4 .Without looking back, he walked out of the door. That was the only time when I saw my dad drunk. And it was the first time when I saw my hero(偶像)  5 .He came back a few weeks later with a 6 mind .And he has not had a drink since then. He is not perfect(完美的)，but I still look up to him. Many years later, when I had enough courage(勇气)to ask my mom about it, she told me something I'll  7 forget. "I found the hotel he was  8at, Cindy .I told him that he could have his drink, but not his daughter.9 he could have his daughter but not his drink. He 10you."

    I love to go biking! Two years ago I bought an exercise bike(健身脚踏车). But soon I got bored with being at home, so I bought a used bike and started going for short rides .Now I plan day trips in my neighborhood (街区). When you drive a car, you miss many things .It's surprising how much more you can see when you're biking.

    My favourite thing to do at weekends is to go to the beach. The beach is beautiful all through the year .I usually drive there. If the weather is cold, I wear some warm clothes and go for long walks on the beach. When the weather is hot，I enjoy swimming or just lying in the sun.

    Little girl Amelia Hallows lives in the UK and she is only five years old .She likes school and…"helping" her teachers.

    Amelia started reading when she was three. Different from other children of her age，she is crazy about reading and likes copying things from books and magazines. What's more，she has another special hobby—correcting others' spelling mistakes .Even though the others are her teachers, she is still open with them.

    One day, Amelia was doing her homework. It was a matching exercise. Suddenly she found the word "deer" was misspelled "dear". She circled the mistake and wrote "It is spelled deer"， on her paper. Then she showed the homework to her mom.

    Her mother said，"She just looked really proud of herself and she said, 'It is wrong and I will tell my teacher.'" Amelia's mom is proud of her daughter, too. She said, "She's really interested in words and reading. She always gets a book in her hand."

    As a child, Tanya always loved swimming in the sea .She grew up in the Cayman Islands(岛) in Caribbean .She could dive(潜水) in the deep places of the sea .But she didn't know then that she could dive deeper than anyone else in the world.

    Tanya found her diving abilities in 1997, when she attended a class in free diving .Free diving is a new sport. It is very dangerous, because people dive with no oxygen (氧气). There were only men in the class and no one wanted to dive with her because she was a girl. But her class were surprised when they saw how long she could swim underwater. Her teacher soon wanted to train her.

    A few months later, Tanya started breaking records (纪录). She could swim underwater for nearly six minutes with just one breath(呼吸)! Last year she broke the world free diving record. She dived 121 metres with one breath. "At the bottom of the sea I'm calm(平静的). I love the quietness down there .Coming up again is very difficult. You can't think about the pain(痛苦)！" she said. "I'm not planning to break any more records for a while. I'm going to wait and see if anyone breaks my last record! In the future I'm going to teach free diving and work for sea protection."

    My two little daughters and I usually go out and help others on Thankful Thursday. Last Thursday we were going to buy lunch for the beggars(乞丐)in the street. Then we went to the nearest KFC.I ordered 15 lunches from it and drove my car to hand them out. We gave the lunches to the beggars. They were excited. We were happy to see that .Then we noticed a small, old woman, asking for pocket money. We gave her our last lunch bag. Before we got into the car, she started to speak to us, "No one has ever done anything like this for me before." She said with a smile. "Well, I'm glad that we were the first, "I answered. "So, when will you eat your lunch？"I asked.

    She just looked at me with her tired big brown eyes and said, "Oh, dear, I'm not going to eat this lunch. You see, I have a little girl. I usually can't buy her favourite food, but today she will be so happy！" I don't know if the kids noticed the tears in my eyes .I have asked many times whether our actions of kindness were too small to change anything. Yet at that moment, I realized the truth of words："We can do small things with great love."
