    Gustavo's favourite sport is football, when he was only four, his older brother taught him how to play it.     As they walked to the football field, Gustavo asked Felipe, "Are you all right?" Felipe said, "I don't know 5 to play football. I tried once and everybody laughed at (嘲笑) me." "Don't worry," said Gustavo. "I was really bad too when I first started playing football. 6 just have to keep (保持) trying."

    The game started, and Gustavo moved to the from of the field and was ready to kick the ball with his lucky left foot. Gustavo felt 7 every time he played football and today he was playing even better than usual.

    After the game, Gustavo and Felipe stayed on the field to practise Felipe was a little bit 8 . Then Gustavo and Felipe practised on the football field every day after the other boys 9 Felipe .also practised before school.

    Now Felipe loves playing football, and Gustavo has a new 10 Gustavo believes that Felipe will be able to score his first goal (进球) soon.

    Last December it was very cold and it snowed a lot. One Saturday, John was playing on the hill near his house with some friends. Suddenly, he fell over and hurt his leg. His friends ran to tell his mother. His mother and brother took him to the hospital.

    The doctor said John had to stay in hospital for four to five weeks. John liked the doctors and the other children in the hospital because they were very friendly. At first he was happy because he didn't have to go to school. He laughed at all of his friends. They had to do a lot of homework. He enjoyed listening to music and watching his favourite television programmes all day.

    But soon the Christmas holidays started. John was still in hospital. He was tired of watching television and listening to his CDs and he wanted to go home. "This is ▲" he thought. He felt sad so he started to cry.

    But then a man came to his room with a bag of presents and a Christmas tree. John knew him from the television. He was a famous sports star who was visiting all the sick (生病的) children. And the man was not the only person who came that day. All the students from John's class came to visit him. And his maths teacher brought him his "favourite" present — some maths homework!

    Mick Polly has a toy store. He lives with his daughter Carolina in Kentucky, US. People also call him the Bike Man because over the past few years, Mick has built hundreds of bikes for needy kids.

    One day in 2012, a 13-year-old boy with a broken (坏的) bike walked by Mick' s house. "I was working in my garage (车库), and he asked if I could repair (修理) it," said Mick.

    The boy's bike had broken wheels (车轮). Mick posted (发布) a picture on Facebook, asking his friends if they had the parts he needed. One friend saw the picture and gave away two used bikes. Mick took parts from each to build new wheels for the boy.

    Soon after, Mick repaired a bike for the boy's brother and one for his sister. During the year, he repaired lots of bikes for kids whose parents didn't have enough money for new ones.

    "People are throwing away (扔掉) bikes every day," said Mick.

    Mick puts the bikes and bike parts in his garage. "I take off the good wheels and use them," he said.

    Up to now, Mick has repaired hundreds of bikes and given away almost 700 newly repaired bikes. They're free, but the kids must agree to try their best to study in school.

    Mick also hopes the bikes will get kids off the sofa (沙发)" When I was growing up we all rode our bikes" he said' Hopefully these kids can get some exercise."

    What kind of music do you like? How do you feel when you listen       (介词) your favourite music? Do you think music can make people feel better or help       (they) learn?

    Jen Morgan is a music therapist (治疗专家). She works with children with disabilities (缺陷). Jen        (use) music to help them learn new things She can also help them with their        (speak) and memory (记忆力).

    There are different        (thing) to do when doing music therapy. Jen gets the children to listen to music and sing or play along. The children also enjoy       (move) to the music. Jen asks them to try to remember songs they like too.

    Jen writes songs and uses them in her therapy work. "I've written more than 200        (song)," she says. "I write songs about everything: about getting dressed, about flowers, about my favourite food — you name  it! Sometimes       (冠词) children help me write songs."

    Jen loves her job as a music therapist. "I'm very        (luck) to have this job," she says. "It's wonderful to see how music can help children  with disabilities. Often children are shy when I first meet them.       (连词) they soon start having fun and enjoying the music. Music makes people feel good!"

    One sunny afternoon, I went for a walk on the beach. There I saw a special crab (螃蟹). It had two claws (螯).一个螯比另一个人螯大得多、长的多。I had never seen such a crab before. So on my way home from the beach, I walked into the library.

    Luckily, I found a book named Come with me to the Edge of the Sea. It had many pictures of animals living near the sea. The pictures of male fiddler crabs (雄性招潮蟹) looked quite like the crab I found on the beach. I learned a lot about that kind of crab.

    Sometimes a fiddler crab puts the small claw across the big one. It looks like it is playing the fiddle (violin) when it does this, so some people call it the fiddler crab Sometimes it waves its big claw. It looks like it is saying hello. That's why other people call it the calling crab. Fiddler crabs' eyes are on long eye stalks (眼柄). They can put up their eye stalks to look around~ It makes them look taller.

    These crabs are very small. There are lots of other, bigger beach animals that want to eat them. They dig holes in the sand (在沙子里挖洞). The holes are their homes. They are safe inside them. Sometimes the sea water can bring food into their holes.
