    Different countries have different eating habits.There is a saying “Eat good things for breakfast, eat a big meal for lunch, but eat less at dinner.” in China.Many Americans agree that one should start the day with a good breakfast, but their ideas about lunch and dinner are different.

    Most Americans only give themselves a short time for lunch because they have not so much long time to have a rest at noon. So they eat a small lunch. After work they will have more time to eat a big dinner. Also a quiet dinner at home with all the family talking about their day is a way to take a good rest after a long, hard day of work.

    Eating at restaurants is also different. In China, people like to talk and laugh while eating. Very often you can hear people talking and laughing loudly, and they just having a good time. In America it is not like this. They want a quiet place where they can eat a good meal far away from the noises of the outside world．If someone is talking too loudly, the manager of the restaurant will look at him or her angrily. If some people are talking too loudly, the manager of the restaurant may come out and ask them to be quiet.

    This story happened three years ago. Jack was an eight-year-old boy at that time. He was a good pupil. He was good at every subject at school. But he could not get up early. He often slept until nine or ten o'clock in the morning. So he was often late for school.

    Jack's mother didn't want him to be late for school again. So she bought him a clock. She said to him,“ You must get up when you hear the clock ring.”

    “Yes, Mum.” said Jack. After that Jack got up at twenty to seven when he heard the clock ring.

    In most parts of the world, many students help their school make less pollution. They join “environment clubs”. In an environment club, people work together to make our environment clean.

     Here are the things students often do.

      No-garbage lunches! How much do you throw away after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags that can be used again. Every week they will choose the class that makes the least garbage and report it to the whole school!

    No-car day! On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car, not only the students but the teachers as well! Cars give pollution to our air, so remember to do such things: walk, jump, bike or run! Use your legs! It's very fun.

    Turn off the water! Do you know that some toilets can waste twenty to forty tons of water an hour? In a year, that would fill a small river! In environment clubs, students mend those broken toilets.

    We love our environment. Let's work together to make it clean!

    Mexico(墨西哥)is to the        of the U. S. and it's a very beautiful country. Most of the people there        Spanish.

    Mexico is one of the most famous old cultural       in the world. The Maya Civilization(玛雅文明)was developed there. People can see many old buildings in Mexico, such as the Sun Pyramid and the Moon Pyramid. They are very famous places of interest,      lots of people from the world visit them every day.

    In Mexico, you can see cactuses(仙人掌)       . There are about two        kinds of cactuses in the world, and you can find more than half of them in Mexico. Some cactuses are about 17 metres        and 40, 000 kilograms! That's amazing, isn't it? So Mexico is called“The Nation of Cactuses”.

On its way to the king, the white elephant attracted(吸引) many people. They ran into the street and shouted, “A white elephant is coming!”

    All the people liked the cute elephant. Some gave it water to drink. Others sang songs to the elephant. A boy put a red hat on the elephant's head.

    Then the elephant came to the king. At last the king saw the white elephant. The king gave it a name himself. The elephant ate from gold dishes and it began a new life.
